Being wise

"How do you know so much about everything?" was asked of a very wise and intelligent man; and the answer was, "By never being afraid or ashamed to ask questions as to anything of which I was ignorant."

-- John Abbott, 19th century Canadian Prime Minister

Trust is a Boundary

Trust is a boundary: yet not known to mankind. It has shaped our existence, but dwelled in our sight. To trust is to love without fear. Though the truth be told, trust is followed by jealousy; an unknown entity in the world of love. A fear held by all, but revealed by few. The world is not a perfect place. It holds heartache, disappointment and anguish. But the world of love can be a wonderful thing. With sorrow comes friendship. With pain comes passion. But at the base of them all lays trust: the beginning of all and the basis of life. Trust is the foundation that we must pursue in the face of love. For without it, it leaves us with nothing but fear.

Make sure your expense is within your means - ET article

Special thanks to : ET & Author - Priya Kumar

I read somewhere that money cannot buy happiness. If that were true, then what could be the purpose of millions of people who leave their homes and loved ones and spend endless hours at work to earn money? Is happiness not their primary goal?

Is it not apparent that they are trying to reach that goal by generating an income that can lead them to the lifestyle that would make them happy?

I believe happiness lies in the achievement of worthy goals, and money is one of them. If money is the primary goal for all then the least you can do is put the money where your heart is, and that would guarantee the happiness that you deserve at the end of work well done, money well earned and spent.

No matter what your income, you will spend money. If that is a given, then make sure you spend some portion of your income on what you love.

If it's a new gadget you have your eyes on, and if owning it will make you happy, then put your money in the kitty to buy that if you can't afford the expense at once. Don't compromise on your desires. If you keep compromising, then you will stop dreaming.

If you believe in something, don't hesitate to put your money on it. You may not get your money back but the joy you will feel in its completion is what money cannot buy.

Sometimes people compromise on their jobs and their projects because of the unforeseen expenses that will be a direct cost to them. Instead of cutting corners, put your money to create the masterpiece you first envisioned.

Compromise will haunt you and be evidence of your lack of belief in your potential. I believed my books would create a revolution and put my own money on the line in the promotions. Though I have still not broken even, when I see my books on the bestseller racks, it's a joy far greater than the hole in my pocket to get there. Put your money on the people you love.

Don't compromise with the time that can be made beautiful and comfortable with people who love you.

Spending on gifts, get-togethers and holidays with your loved ones is an expense worthy of the time and effort you put, away from them. The last thing you want to do when you are with your loved ones is to watch your pocket.

Make sure your expense is within your means, but cutting corners on what you can afford will steal the joy not only from your personal life, but also from your professional life.

There is one thing that must never be compromised in your pursuit of income and that is your health. I know someone who will buy expensive shoes but will makes a fuss about the salad he finds over-priced.

He consumes carbonated drinks which is nothing but sweetened water but will think twice before paying for the juice that is twice the price. Health is the real wealth and there could be no greater foolishness than to compromise on it. Healthy people are generally happy people.
